They aren't a flat rate company. The do have an opt-in "guarantee program" where you will never make less than $1.20 (or whatever it is now). So, if you take a crap load they will loan you the money to bring the pay up to $1.20 a mile or whatever minimum it is nowadays, then you pay them back from the next load that pays more... Plus interest....
Not sure who would want that, but some take it...

The fuel bonus used to be really good. Company drivers could bring in that much every week. But then they changed it because they were paying out more than what they were saving.
Last I heard the fuel bonus was only 25%of whatever it was you saved in fuel? Not really worth it unless fuel is $6 a gal.
Next time you talk to someone on the phone ask them about the current fuel bonus, I think whatever is on a website is outdated.texasmorrell Thanks this. -
Have you never heard of nastc?!Dave_in_AZ and Cabinover101 Thank this.

Well look it up. The only truck operators that pay pump price are the ones that can't get their act together.
-
That describes me perfectly. And I promise is soon as I’m done spending all of Mercer’s money down here in Cancun I’m going back to Texas and I’m going to get my act together.unloader Thanks this.
-
Have you always paid pump price the entire time you've had your authority?
-
Except when I was at Mercer. Other than that I could only get a nickel or a dime here and there. Believe me I checked everywhere.
-
Obviously, you didn't....I didn't think anyone paid pump price.
-
Then please enlighten me.
