susspended licence

I think jtrnr is right, I have recently been talking with recruiters and WIA people and so on... and the most COMMON question they have asked so far is "has your license been suspended in the last 24 months"

get it cleared up... but I think you may be on the sidelines for awhile till that drops off....

 

getting it back isnt the issue... its going to be that it WAS suspended in the last 2 years.....

A recent suspension could be potentially problematic. Depends on the reason for the spotty employment history.

Ok 1st off you sound like you are whining with the broken record of it will only cost $264. It DOES NOT MATTER. The companies do NOT care WHY it was suspended they only care that it was and from what I can gather still is.

I normally don't like to take personal jabs But...
If you are a tattoo artist that is worth a flip you would not be looking for a job in trucking. I have many tattoo artist friends. Some of them suck. Some are multiple award winning artist.
Bottom line is even a crappy artist that can somewhat do the job worth half a crap still will bank at least 1k per week. Where better artist will make 1k per day.
So basically from what I have gathered you tried to be a tattoo artist but failed. That sucks that the dream didn't work out. So now for a new plan.
Unfortunately for you this is a DRIVING JOB. And any flaws in your driving history (suspension,tickets, accidents blah blah blah) = DENIED
The Companies are getting thousands of apps each day from people without these.

So thus then they move on to the next step since they are getting thousands of apps each day. They look at work history. Since they can be picky right now. So they are taking those with idle no gaps responsible looking work histories.

Word to the wise the work history can be fixed. I know of people that did construction. Which just like being a tattoo artist most of it is done under the table. Just because you didn't pay taxes does not mean you can't put it on your application. What looks worse then jumping from shop to shop is?
Jobless and not getting unemployment.
Yes they ask if you were getting unemployment.
Fix the suspension keep your license clean for 3 years after you get it back and then call and talk to a few companies and see what they say.
