Swapping from a 9 speed to auto questions.

    96 Pete 3406b cat with a 9 speed direct. The trans in it now is about shot and the boss wants to put a auto trans in it, can this be done and what kind of money and parts list am I looking at?

    I don't think it is possible. There are alot of electrical components needed that that truck does not have. Put a 9 Direct back in it (MUCH MUCH cheaper anyway)

    Ya this isn't my thinking on this one lol. If we swap transmissions should we try and find another 9 speed or maybe a 10 speed? Is there a difference and what would be involved in swapping
