As a former yard guy and current truck driver, your trailer your problem. Do you want them to roll up your straps for you too?

We had a Sweep off area at the back of the yard, we would even let you borrow a broom. All of the company drivers swept their own trailers, why would we treat a common carrier any different?

If you asked me to sweep your trailer off, the only response you would have got was the “whoosh” of my door as it was closing.

I never expected anyone to sweep out my van. But pallets, plastic banding of anything else that went with the load belonged to them. They paid for the product and the packaging is part of it. When they refused to take it off, I would pull a few feet away from the dock, then dump it all on the ground. Got banned from a couple places like that but I wasn't going back anyway.

I like all the LtL’s (ups freight and old d’s to not name names) that drop an empty pup on our dock overnight so we can load it the next morning. Open the rollup and the floor is covered with shredded and ripped up pallets, nails, and shrinkwrap from the Amazon forklift drivers down the road from us. Loading new tires on top of all that crap isn’t very good practice.

Refusing to load it a few times should put an end to that crap.

Seems like a lot of other things to get upset over. I don’t want anyone else on or near my junk other then what they need to be there for. Be glad don’t have to go pay for washouts all the time.

If it’s packaging and things of that nature just sweep it off in their yard. Not your problem at that point
