Take a quick look at the distance between the tandem axles by comparing the distance between the center of the tires tires on both sides of the trailer. If one side has a smaller distance and the other side greater you could have a torque rod broken loose or out of alignment.

Wyoming along I80 pulled me over and caused me to shut down due to wind a few months back on my way to Oregon for about 5 hours. From Dallas that's always the fuel route they give me.

One time they opened up my card so that I can fuel anywhere as long as it's a Loves TA/Petro. I went south through NM AZ and up through Cali towards OR and I was actually on time for my first pick up for the first time in my career doing the Oregon run. This was earlier this year in February I think.

You have got some great advice and suggestions. This is what I think. Relax. Look for simple solutions. I can tell you from years of driving that there is a lot of wind in the American west. Some of it so bad I have seen trucks on their sides. After you carry a few loads through these routes you will know if it is wind or something wrong. You need to always make sure that 5th wheel has a bit of grease on it. Not so much that you sling grease all over the trailer get it on the wheels then cover the bottom of the trailer with it. Just a small dab will do it. I took grease with me and applied a small dab from time to time. You can tell when a 5th wheel is fighting a trailer because of a lack of grease. Let me give you a general warning though about a trailer that is not tracking square. These things can become deadly in winter weather. If you have a CB radio and can get a driver to get behind you they can sometime tell you if your trailer is mistracking.
