Ridiculous! Terrible way to get a career started and issues like that are one of the main reasons new drivers quit and are bitter with trucking. Hang with it and give it a solo try.

As of now I think my company is paying the fine but I still will have a ding on my PSP score....not positive though.
I really like this company and want this job but it's not really big and I'm afraid of rocking the boat. I know if I were to say something the company would have my back but the crap would definitely hit the fan...
Trust me....this is a company I would recommend to anyone...x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Good to know you like the company; rough way to get started, but with your attitude it will work out fine for you.

As long as they are paying dont worry bout the psp. And next time you want to scale, and the mentor says no. Pull the brake and say, "well sounds like your driving the rest of this trip then huh?bottomdumpin, tscottme and x1Heavy Thank this.

Lol, after spending the night behind a scale shack we got the weight down to 79,960 and were on our way. Short time later he told me to fuel up as we were running low. I told him I was only putting in 50 gallons so we are not overweight again and he said fill it....I told him I'll fill it but he'd have to log on as the driver...Rusty Trawler, tscottme, Midnightrider909 and 2 others Thank this.

Atta boy!

Corse hes assuming you guys will burn the weight off before the next scale, and that is a game you will need to learn to play....
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
It's a no-brainer, address it as A.unsafe practice of driving.
B.unacceptable hygiene/living conditions.
Companies do have rules about minimum requirements of how to treat a student. I've seen trainers fired for that. As for the ticket, push for it to go against the mentor or company. When I was a trainer we had to scale any load over 20k and it was always the trainers responsibility to make certain of the weight. Everyone criticizes the newbies and that creates steering wheel holders as they say. I'll help anyone who let's me. It's us truckers out here that have to lead the way for the next line. Mentors like this are a disgrace. I'm sorry you have to deal with it. Definitely call and report them! -
You do realize that your "mentor" is reading this thread and is just waiting for you to fall asleep in the bunk?
bottomdumpin, Rusty Trawler, ExOTR and 2 others Thank this.
