I don't understand your complaint. It's been five years since I went through Swift "mentoring", but as I recall, they paid a flat weekly rate during training. So you are getting paid. It's just taking a little longer for you to finish training and get your truck than you would like. It takes five or six weeks for most trainees to get through training.

I guess I lucked out. I got along well with the trainer they assigned me. Although he was the third trainer assigned to me. The first two never showed up to pick me up. At that time Swift was requiring new hires with experience to go out with a trainer for two weeks and a lot of the trainers preferred experienced trainees and would not take actual rookies on their trucks.

We don't get a flat rate. I get 9.50 an hour for line 3, 8.05 an hour for line 4.

That officially sucks. Now I'm remembering the mentors used to have to get you a hotel room when they went home. I stayed in a Red Roof for a couple of days during my training. They don't do that anymore either?

In any case just tough it out. It'll be over soon and you will never have to do it again.

    Thanks, nice to know.

Just got off the phone with my driver manager and he said he's going to make my trainer pay the ticket. Like you, he said it wouldn't be on my PSP however he said it will be on my CSA..

That's terrible. Sad actually. Why would anyone choose to train with them? So many company's out there to choose from. Why starve for swift.

You don't have a personal "CSA". That's a rating system for companies, not drivers. The PSP report is the corresponding report for drivers. When people talk about your CSA score what they really mean is the number of points on your PSP.

Your company does have a CSA score and most tickets you or any other of their drivers get will affect it. Not weight tickets though. DOT doesn't care about those.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure your mentor is not even coming close to a net of 2,500 unless you mean per month not week

Took me a month to tell them I was done.

What always blew my mind where the long time swift drivers and the rehires talking. they didn't just drink the kook aid, they chugged the keg...
