I would much rather a quick phone call and clear the air than wait on messages back and forth. But swift makes it difficult to ever want human contact again with another swift employee. If I could always get everything fixed over messages I would never call them. Although I guess it doesn't really matter, they don't fix anything either way usually.
Swift abandoned us!!!!

I text my haulers on a daily basis for issues that aren't urgent. If I need something or if I just want to bust someones balls I'll call them.

Multiple violations in a matter of months; wife calling employer; arguing and hanging up on safety - what are you people thinking? Of course you got fired!
insertnamehere, atlasshruggery and TruckDuo Thank this. -
i text instead of calling people who may not want to be called. if they feel its relevant the phone will ring if their not rolling.
our company tolerates zero texting or phone talking while moving
our trucks have internet radio and dispatch does not want phone calls unless you tell them its coming on the radio -
Cromwell Thanks this.

People need to understand that everyone is trying to get into your business. If you whine or complain you are helping them. When you are on company property remember the walls have ears. Mechanics have big mouths, the guy on the broom might be a directors bro in law. Yard dogs can't wait to rat you out,,,,don't like where you are ? Move on..it's unfortunate you have the tractor strapped to your butt...good luck.

oldman is right.
people willl slit your throat and slander your reputation for a better run, a nicer truck or ten dollars.
i have been investigated after calling bs on favoritism and brown nosing and prevailed twice but they get right back at it after the heat from the main office dies down.
should have quit long ago -
I wonder where the original poster for this thread is? Only post is this one. No follow up with supporting information to answer some of the questions people had or close holes poked in the story. I know why, because her story was not the whole one.

So...if we were to author a "How to get ahead in your truck driving job" manual, having multiple safety violations and then having a heated exchange over the telephone with the office staff, then threatenung to quit would be in what chapter?
TruckDuo and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this.
