I agree, if he got another job that quickly, chances are Swift got a reference call from his new carrier and with him threatening to quit, Swift got him out of their truck before he left it sitting in the middle of no where.

Guess this driver learned his lesson
.... Don't run your mouth about quitting, if you're going to quit .. Follow the proper procedures
Why Telegraph your punches? And never, never let your lady take the lead.... Evedently this driver has alot to learn

Giving my head a shake at all you macho, tough guys weighing down on her for trying to smooth things over.

Doesn't sound like she picked up the phone uninvited or without his permission to me.

Also, bear in mind that HE mouthed off and effectively got himself fired, thus necessitating said finessing of the situation.

But yeah, this is totally her fault.

I don't understand people sometimes. How can you not have money to get home? If my company terminate my lease, I would just BT home. Whether you a company driver or O/O, you should always have a contingency plan for the future. God forbid if they had a break down. Who in the heck travel with two dogs? They eat more than people..lol

Sure it's mine. its my name on the registration, my name on the title as owner, with the bank as the lien holder. i can pick and choose whom to work for and when. The finance company or bank has no control of any alterations or movements of the vehicle. The seller lists me as the buyer, as long as i bring them the funds to purchase said vehicle. A LP is a rental agreement in which the Lessee has no control, no ownership of the vehicle, the lessor has all control of the vehicle... as they own it.

Yeah, I don't think anybody blamed the girlfriend at all. I think people are pointing out that fact that, this man was a "business person" and he had to have his girlfriend try to smooth over the mess he made after loosing his cool with the folks that write his check.

It obviously didn't work out, becacuse he lost his BUSINESS CONTRACT. Grown people conducting business are (expected to act grown) when these situations happen. Spouses (including: boyfriend's, girlfriend's, fiancé's) that are not invested in a partnership in the business agreement have no reason to stick their noses in it. No matter how entitled they feel.

I think the post is totally valid. I think that everything she stated is pure as the driven snow. I don't doubt one word. Not even a little. She admitted there was violations. Now, they both think that "a few violations" (her words) are "minor". She believes that he was being an owner-operator. She also believed that by her calling and "smoothing things over" when he melted down at them made a difference.

This is what this industry is doing to itself. Let's just say that it may be safe to say the OP is on a fast track to failure out here and won't be driving much longer. He won't see (with her help of course) where he went wrong and will not change to prevent what happened here happening in the future.

This is what we are attracting. This is why we have turnover at some companies at well over 100%. Swift ain't worried about getting truck drivers. These steering wheel holders will suffice. And they are lined up around the block. Welcome to trucking, mega fleet 2015 style. Truck drivers need not apply.

The post said "he" was the o/o and that "he" got another job, not her, so I'm guessing she's not a cdl holder thus not only was our fellow driver maintaining the truck expenses but her hungry ### also. Poor sob. Being bled dry by women and by his beloved truck; oh and wait, they also had a cute puppy dog along their 6 month o/o illusion.

Not to also mention that he had to pay insurance for her and probably received loads that allowed for passengers to ride.

What a burden. I hope he leaves her behind in phx with this new job and get trucking without the extra weight.

    Haha. I'm mean.
