Hello everyone. I'm scheduled to go to swift academy for cdl training and they have a sheet with this section stating that I must bring utility bills, leases, mortgages and such... I'm pretty limited on what I can bring since I've been homeless for a very long time, now. I don't want to be sent home after the 6 hour bus ride because of stuff like this.
I was wondering if anyone had experience with swift academy and could clarify on how much this would discredit me.
It seems like proof of address stuff, and I can provide everything except for this...
Too bad that it's unlikely that anyone can respond who dealt with a similar situation .

Never heard of any requirements like those.
I'd call the school to verify.Arctic_fox and Speedy356 Thank this. -
When I left to go to orientation at Schneider -- I knew exactly what to bring; all the requirements were right there on Schneider's website.
Still -- the above phone call suggestion is a great way to catch website errors/omissions.
ALSO : BE SURE to document who you talked with -- & when; get their phone extension number, as well
. If there are problems, later -- your documentation of such will enhance your credibility -- & make you look more professional...this is exactly the kind of thinking that Swift (& other carriers) are looking for...

It has to do with REAL ID. As long as you have documents that can meet the requirements, you should be good.Chinatown Thanks this.

Get a family member address or friend. Tell them you were staying there nothing was in your name. Or get an Ups box which cost money. I
register my car with the state I live in with a UPS box. It’s a physical address so it counts. But I never heard of this. -
Well, I just got an email saying that all I needed was my license, permit and social security. I'm so paranoid about them screwing me over. To be clear, this is what I'm worried about:
Thanks for the replies, everyone.
Edit: turns out the email reply was ai generated.Attached Files:

BONUS: When you call Swift -- ask about their "Top Gun" CDL Academy -- & if it is available to you, after you finish your initial CDL training (it probably isn't available at all Swift locations):

Call or email Swift, those are the people making the decisions
-
You're right. They're not answering my phone calls, but I'll keep trying to contact them.

Good for you now that all that's simplified. Just work hard during the school and think about this new career. You'll be just fine; Swift won't screw you over. Swift won't give you a 6 hr. bus ride, just to screw you over. That school is your future, so study and work hard and you'll be just fine.N14356 Thanks this.
