In school I had someone hold the sheets let me finish an item (say brakes) then they would repeat it verbatim if I got it wrong and wouldn't move to the next until I repeated it correctly. If you can't find someone to help you with it and you know someone with a semi then ask if they'll help otherwise you'll have to just go over it every night at home until you get it. Thats if you don't want to throw away $100.00 Good luck!

Well, as of yesterday I passed my state CDL test and completed Swift's program. I start orientation on tuesday. I have to say that overall I am impressed with the program they have, and I personally had a great experience with it. I have read how some people love it and some people hate it and mock it, but what I realized is that it doesn't matter how many weeks you train to drive a truck- you don't keep the learning process going until you actually get out there yourself. I thought I learned so much from my training, but apparently I have only hit the tip of the iceberg. I'm totally excited for this to get started and make an ### of myself out there as a newbie!
If anyone has any questions about the training program, feel free to ask me. I am way too tired right now to detail my experience, plus you can already find all that on the forums. That and typing on a phone sucks.Kaos-OTR Thanks this. -
Congrats on getting that CDL! Hard to believe I graduated from there just over a year ago. Anyways, you have a big adventure ahead. The mentor phase institutes the same concept as the academy....to get you comfortable behind the wheel. All the real learning comes when you go solo. :^)

Congrats! About to take the plunge myself and hopefully be where you are in about 4-5 weeks. Probably going to end up with Swift myself, training out of Millington TN I would think. Seeing good reports such as yours helps the motivation, so thanks for that.
