Not pokin fun, just thought it was odd that a driver of 7 years hadn't heard of DEF. I was aware of DEF before I even thought of drivin! Questions are good, if I can answer, I will!

I never knew what DEF was until I asked my trainer. They didnt saya word about it in school. I have actually learned more on this forum than anywhere else about a lot of things & DEF is 1 of them.

The important thing is to make written communications as to your need for DEF. Let your DM and dispatcher know via Qualcomm or Peoplenet (whichever you use) and let them direct you from there. That way, if you do run out, it's because they aren't doing their job (and you have proof in writing that you communicated the need). Out of pocket reimbursement?... I don't think so.

    It's not your truck.

DEF is nothing more than purified PEE.

That is what I heard it's why I asked. So all you truckers running new rigs just pour your "trucker bombs" in the DEF tank and you'll be good to go.
