It can be done by friends or family members. Just two people who can attest to when, where and why. No biggie. If they want to talk to the gas station, they will.

After reading this again, I realized that I will need to make copies of my passport to show the breaks in Employment, to prove that I was out of the country,

Good reading, I had some other people tell me the same thing. I was very happy to be giving my driver code and hire date.

Injun, I'm talking to 2 recruiters. 1 from Driver Solutions (PAM) and one from Swift. I am set to go to Swift for the 28th and to Fort Wayne,IN for PAM the beginning of March.

So now what? Do I keep PAM waiting till I finish with Swift, then let them down? Or do I tell them now? Decisions, decisions. I prefer Swift as I found that PAM has mostly automatic transmissions, and even with everything picking up they tend to leave drivers sitting with no return loads for days at $40 a pop.

People don't show or cancel orientations every day. No biggy. Just don't leave them hanging incase Swift doesn't happen.

I finished orientation feb 2 and there were 11 people in our class at the start. Two were asked to leave the first day and two the second day. (all fresh students).
Ive been out of work 2 years prior to prehire with swift due to an illness with my father that i cared for untill his death. I did have 10 years at the same company before that. But swift didnt call or ask me for proof on the last 2 years at all.( i wouldnt have been happy if they called my mother and said did he (I) care for your husband until his death anyways.
Then my dm tryed to stick me with a trainer that I wasnt happy with from word one.(see other posts for details) So i refused to go. Now i have my second trainer starting monday and he called last night and im very happy how the conversation went. And i believe this is what ive been waiting for.. :)

Dixie: in your case, if you want to have PAM as a backup "Plan B" then ask for a couple more weeks to deal with....a very sick kid going in for surgery on the 28th or something. If it doesn't work out with Swift, you'll be on PAM's doorstep rearin' to go...two weeks later, with a much better kid settling in nicely with Grandma.

They told me they're not hiring in FL at the moment. Well, this was a year ago I assume they're still not hiring in FL. Not many companies right now are.

I'm concidering a school like Swift. However I live in the Sacramento, CA area. Closest terminal is 2hrs away. So if I take CDL training at a Company School how does that effect me getting to their terminal? Now many BIG Companies in the Sac Area. Thanks folks
