That's not what the office said ( twice ) If the lease is in my sons name , there are two ways for me to go with him ,one as a rider . the other he becomes a mentor and then I ride/work with him , My son said one of his friends drives for the CO and hes dad went to some kind of CO school to go with hes son under hes son's lease.

If you go just as a rider you can not have a CDL. There is a program where he becomes a one time only mentor to train you if you are going to do team together after you upgrade.

Ok i was a company driver before i leased my truck--I did the one time mentor for my son so we could team..They will not let you ride with him under any circumstances if you hold a cdl other than to train. They wouldnt even let my son ride with me to go down to get his driver code after he went thru orientation. If the lease is in your son's name and you team with him--he will have to "hire" you..but IEL will help you with this process.

A friend gave a ride to a woman who had a CDL who abandened her truck and quit her job. The Kansas DOT gave a stiff fine to which person? I forget.

Its going great--they dont let us sit still very much! LOL Which is good for the bank but bad for tired souls . We average about 5500-6500 miles a week. We have done extremely well since I leased my truck. I have no complaints yet except a few issues with my truck but most have been covered by warranty. We have done really well so far--most our weeks we take home minimum of 1200 each and often times more than that. Just remember-make sure you guys put back money for taxes--it will creep up on you. We also do .10 on maintenance fund-which is high for a team they told me but i like having it there. If we need it we can use it. I don't regret leasing my truck as of yet. also, i never had any issues when i was a company driver solo or team--i always got miles and made good money. I have to think i have one of the best dm's there is.

I and my son are looking into leasing from SWIFT , I've done the numbers over and over again , posted questions and gotten great answers, were ready to run with the dogs (LoL ). I'm retired early ( 57 ) But mom wants a new house, so by GOD's grace and lots of coffee , we hope to hit the road by the 1st of the year ..I've had family and friends that have been o/o , but didn't keep the PM's up on there trucks or put money back , lost there ride. .....................................................................................
