    lol

about the upfront cost from what I have read and been told if you lease from Swift there is no down or credit checks BUT your payments are going to be higher, my mentor told me if you can save up $5k for a down then go to a dealer and get much better rates.

About what some said its all about managing your expenses etc, my mentor is an o/o and he said he does quite well, he is also buying a house right now in which I have helped with paperwork using my laptop. He said its all about managing everything, your maintenance, time, spending habits....everything. When he drives he stops 2 times during a shift, I try to follow the pattern and I try not to make a stop until I hit a 5 or 6 hour mark even though he told me to stop anytime I feel I need to but unlike some I dont need to stop to pee or eat every hour or 2. When we get there we are in and out normally within 10 minutes, we don't sit around for hours like some drivers do. When we have a load we also try and drop it early, so far every single load we have been lucky and able to drop a few hours early and then we hurry and get our times updated to get the next load. He also will weigh the pros and cons to accepting a load, is it really heavy, which states are we driving in, how will the fuel economy be etc.
I can say im fortunate to see hands on how a successful o/o operates.
