I don't forget to many things buckeye...and GOOD FOR YOU for listening and learning something at least from the forum. I wasn't trying to make you sound wishy washy..and yes you did kind of come off like a cheerleader in a few threads...ESPECIALLY the one YOU started ...ah I think it was the definition of Swift I don't want to see your legs to check for standards thank you ..but NO and if you didn't think my wife is cuter than me I would direct you to the alternative lifestyle channel and bid you a good day
Talk about a "Politician"!!!!! Even with my history with Swift (long story...hopefully a happy ending), I still recommend Swift for a newbie to start with. From what I understand the Millington Academy does an excellent job...for the basics...after that it will really depend on the luck of the draw as to what sort of Mentor you would be assigned....but coming out of the Columbus Terminal...you are in much better shape than OBGYN had being out of the Memphis Terminal. Columbus and the Edwardsville (Kansas City, KS) are the two best terminals in the Swift system (in my opinion), their terminal managers are always staying on top of the Mentors and students...along with the balance of the terminal staff. My advice BB, would be send Sonny (OBGYN..aka...oldnewbiegonnabe) a PM and get the straight dope from him...he will tell you the whole truth and nothing but the truth...he would not "recruit" you. Just give you some straight honest advice.
The go check out the multiple Swift threads from current swift drivers. There are plenty of threads on here.
Chill Mike. Let's not everyone start getting all stirred up about it. You had a great experience at Trainco; I've visited them and liked the staff and the facilities. I've also spoken with ex and current Swift drivers and know what the good and bad in general are with them. As RocknrollNik says, I "have to start somewhere," even if it is with a company "where he would not send a sick dog to." That was funny, I admit. I look at it as I now have two positive options (Swift and Trainco) that I did not have before. I have time to weigh the pros and cons of each before signing that dotted line, so no big deal. I'm excited.
Well said Buckeye...and as for my reason on Swift was due to the treatment my wife got after she fired her 1st trainer( they didn't call them mentors back then) and finally got on her own...they set her up to fail with runs that couldn't be done legally and with faulty equipment. take your time and make the best decision for you
Thank you Otterhalf. Your posts along with Injun's, Nana's, Dick's Scotties and other's regarding Swift have been very no-nonsense and informative. I'll send Oldnewbie a PM.
