Well got my class a cdl now. I'm with my mentor for a few more weeks then in my own truck. The audio and video recording isn't going in the trucks because no one will sign the release for them to do it because it is a invasion of privacy and it has to be signed off on

Times must have changed since I went to school at swift back in 2000.. If you could sit in the seat with a heartbeat you passed the school. ! driver had atleast 3 trainers that left her at the yard for someone else to train. Eventually I think they just gave her a truck and hoped for the best..lol

Day one of Swift School... just 3 weeks ago...

Even tho I had a DD214 and College docs both of which verified HS grad, I still had to call the wife to copy and fax my HS diploma.

My recruiter had me chasing down a birth cert that was never once asked for by DPS or Swift, and yet totally failed to mention I would need a copy of my HS diploma.
**In Texas the Birth Cert will only be needed when testing for Hazmat, which you cannot do until after you pass road test. It will also involve FBI fingerprint and background checks additional fee of $35 and traveling across town for the printing.

    For Swift?

    3900 for school.
    $500 for lodging.

$85 for padlock and kingpin lock once you get your truck.

So far those are the only fees I have encountered. I'm at orientation now awaiting mentor assignment.
