swift cdl school info needed

My orientation class has 20plus drivers with experience. None of them have been hit with any fees.

 

I was a student for SWIFT in Fontana, CA. Oct. 12. 2014.
Now I can only tell you my experience with Swift, and the experience of others in my class. So you get on a bus, you ride to San B. You wait there, and wait....and maybe wait some more. Then the SWIFT/Central van will come. (Which the shuttle driver is a student as well). You are then cramped up in van like they are smuggling you. (I kid you not) 17-22 people in a 10 passenger vehicle. You get to you motel/hotel. It will either be the Eco Lodge, or if you are the unlucky one, like my group. You will be placed in the Motel 6. No fridge, no microwave, no security. We were to fend for ourselves. No weekly allowance. If you don't have money...You will not survive there. Your first day Is you sitting and waiting and standing and waiting. As rumors will pass threw the halls of all the stories everyone heard or read. You then go back to the hotel after waiting 6-8 hours to get your stuff copied. (ID...etc) Your next day requires the same action, but this time to urine test. You next week is for the driver test. They put up with no bs. Don't text, don't call, don't talk, just listen, take notes, and mind your #### business. Be respectful to the teacher. (Shes the best part about the school. (Which btw the school is not swift, it's TDA) You then go to the DMV test out. You have up to 3 fails. Then you go home. If you pass lucky you, now the half ### training begins, behind the wheel. You learn straight back, how to float gears, how to do a lot of crap you will never use. But you'll do it because you think your gonna be a kick ### operator after. Then they put you on morning, then swing, then graveyard shift. All in the same #### week. 2 hours of sleep, while you are still reading, cause there are more tests. They tell you freight before family. Your son needs open heart? Well if you leave you will never come back. Just all in all it's a bad company. Im going to CRST, sure bad rumors. But my family is students right now. And they changed all there ways.

 

If I had to do it all over I would not have gone to swift Richmond. Out of 19 people there are 7 left. That could be a good thing , weeding out the bad drivers. But I find that the instructors are more interested in sitting in the van then coming out to instruct and when they do come out of the van your first thought is oh sh--t now what. Plus adding to insult they charge you 5k for this and they act like they are doing you a favor. I think looking into an other school would be the way to go.
