They have a dedicated guy at the Sears in Buffalo. I am 90% sure that he said he was paid 1000 per week on salary. He comes in at around midnight each night (Mon-Sat). Runs from Buffalo to Rochester. Drop and hook both ends. That is it. Go from Buff to Roch, then go home. For some reason they have lost 2 people on this in the past year. One came in after some drinking. The other I heard popped a hot random. Yes, Swift is a training company. Yes, you will see some of the drivers have some normal new driver issues. But I have never had any issue with them. They seem as good as any other training company, and better than most. And when you are that large, with that large of a freight base. It gives many more options than most other carriers.
Do they have any team dedicated options from the Tampa/Ocala area?? I'll be calling them monday but a heads up is always nice! My friend is graduating from driving school next week and his school told him to try Swift!!!
I don't know the answer to the teams/Ocala question. From what I hear, the new Walmart account is currently looking for daycab/slipseat drivers. It's entirely possible something will open up for teams. Also, Walmart is not the only dedicated gig in Florida.
Target is out of Lake City FL and K-Mart DC is down the road from Swift in Ocala. Not too sure who does K-Mart; However, I do know Werner handles some loads. I have seen a lot of Volvo day cabs on the Walmart account. Someone correct me, but doesnt Swift do work out of Alachua for Walmart?? KH
Thanks for the info, I'll call tomorrow to find out for sure. KH, I think Premier out of Forest Pk, Ga does Kmart, also they have Target and a few others out of Ocala and Lakeland. Would the teams get the larger bunk trucks or whatever is available you make due with??? I know I'll be asking these questions to the recruiter but they have been known to fib sometimes sooo....
I am positive Swift does some for K-mart as I saw one a couple of weeks ago delivering to a store (solo truck). Now Swift handles the grocery division of Target which is team only from what people have told me. JB Hunt and SNI do the bulk of the dry down here in FL. I have seen Swift dry vans at Sams clubs. KH
