I wonder how if it ever occured to the upper mgmt at swift instead of paying .25cpm and paying at least .31cpm to new drivers how their retention would double. Also since I'm with Swift, you can't say all dispatchers, dm's suck, but some do, because they are just as frustrated as drivers are because of the bureaucratic nature of the company. Some suck, some are great, and some are in the middle.
Swift disrespects its drivers...

Crazy bobby I would recommend just getting your experience and then moving on when you feel you are marketable to other companies. Since i know what you are talking about being a Swift driver myself I know how frustrated you are getting 1-200 dollar paychecks, but trust me you don't want to lose your job because I learned that you are not easily employable with 2-3 months exp with Swift, I would stick it out to at least 6 months then leave Swit

well as for jonesville there used to be a gal that worked the window who was really sweet to me ..never had much issue with jonesville other then the showers being thrashed ..as for atlanta that was where i felt like i got crapped on everytime i was there ...so i think it's everybody has conflict with something where they work and if you feel disrespected get the terminal manager and let him know ...i had this problem in gary and i solved it just by going to the terminal manager cuz the shop idiots wouldnt give me a straight answer after 2 days so dont get stepped on man ..do some stepping of your own

I have a question for everyone...
Is there anyone who drives for Swift who is not on at least some level of probation?
What I hated the most about Swift, not saying that I worked for them but I've ridden along, is the racism. Going to Gary? If you're white, fuel anywhere but the terminal. Same goes for Atlanta. The only terminal I ever felt comfortable walking into was Lancaster. It's best to fuel at a truck stop. If you've signed up for their wonderful lease program, get your own credit card and fuel at the truck stop of your choice. Don't let anybody tell you where to buy fuel...they're wasting your time.

Swift Transportation is Complete Garbage!
You will never go home at swift and they treat their drivers like complete S***!
I started there in 2007 and I could not run more than 1800 miles per week!
They were so bad that when I wanted to talk to the terminal manager about the miles.. I had to wait over 2 hours in a line of people because everyone was complaining. Any job pays more than Swift! When I was working for them and parking my truck at home , the drivers working for other companies that were my friends would compare paychecks with me! Anyway .. They were doubling my pay checks and one driver who was home every night was tripling my pay!
I will tell you how bad Swift Is! For 3 straight weeks my paycheck was bring home around 260 dollars or around that! My cousin was working at Dollar General and in 2 weeks she brought home the exact same thing as I did for 2 of my weeks at Swift!
Swift is like one of those jobs that the unemployment office would send you to if you can't find ANYTHING AT ALL!
A lot of people who work at Swift are new to driving and they do not understand a lot about trucking! Swift knows this! Once a driver at Swift starts to understand how the trucking industry is and learns the in's and out's and how business is ...
Swift will tell you that it is your time to go. They will work you out of the system! -
It should be illegal for swift to pay new drivers .25 per mile!
They really do make sure you work for your money in a slow truck!
They also make sure u have nothing! Just remember though that it will not matter...
Your cent per mile at swift really does not matter because you are going to stay broke no matter what!
They get angry if u talk to them about it to!
I told the terminal manager in a meeting with him that while I was waiting to talk to him.. he had over 50 drivers sitting in their terminal talking about how they could not pay their bills and were starving to death! I made it clear to him that I was in the same situation and when you have that many drivers angry at you at one time.. the problem must certainly NOT be the driver , but a result of bad management and planning on his part!
He did not like that at all!
Please people... if u work at swift ... quit them
