my 1st year with swift I made 36,726.11 gross but if you can make around 50k ish staying at the house then stay at the house . Last year with Swift I made 48,684.35 gross. And if any one says the 1st year they make 50k just walk away.

While not necessarily disagreeing... had I been doing what I'm doing now in the beginning, I would be making that much in my first year, but OTR solo... definitely accurate at 28k ish.

it is true i did the math for swift with the info my recruiter sent me and from 28k to 31 k is about average for first year of driving but im still waiting for school they delayed it a week
    anyway ill see what happens
    2500miles x 4 weeks x .28 cents a mile x 12 months = 31, 800 and subtact some because you wont be driving every day about 29000

We get along ok, don't let me lie to you some times I want to choke a planer. But for the most part it's not bad get payed right 98% of the time. when it is messed up 9 times out of 10 one phone call to payroll fixes it. I guess run you hard is a little subjective. you should get 2000 to 2500ish a week with the economy like it is some weeks you will need a 34 hour reset to rest when you get that 3200ish week if the stars and moon lines up and get a lot of drop and hooks. I have just recently went back over the road. I was on a dedicated run hauled containers out of gulfport, MS and New Orleans, LA took them to Bowling Green, KY and back. Was home ever other night and off on weekends. and got around 2900 a week. This week has been my official week over the road I stay out 3 weeks and home for 4 days. The pay period is Thursday to Wednesday and as of tomorrow Tuesday ill have 2,654 if i get a short run Wednesday and delivery same day ill get close to 3000. And yes you can tell them when you want home time for the most part they try to get you home the date you want off.

I am a recent graduate of Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire,WI. I have my tanker and doubles/triples endorsements. I also passed the hazmat test, but I am waiting on the TSA. background check.
My question, is Swift a decent company to start out with. I have a disorderly conduct from nineteen years ago and a misdemeanor drug charge from 1998. My driving record is perfect. My problem is that I have had three jobs in the past five years, One closed down and the other one layed me off due to slow business. I would appreciate any advice. I am single so I am willing to stay out for three or four weeks at a time.

The 1998 charge might be a problem at some companies, they have plenty of people who want to drive, and don't have to take anyone with anything questionable. Others, including swift are likely to be easier. Swift isn't much worse than any other mega trainer, your job history is nothing unusual these days. Your endorsements won't hurt. Apply to a LOT of the mega trainers, look over the training pay, the training duration, (you will still do some training) and look over the starting mileage pay when you choose one, if you have more than one offer.
