    I am in about the same situation you were when you posted this, in CDL training, 7 days into driving and pre hired by swift and werner, so I am interested in what company you chose and how it has been going so far.

    The biggest thing is going to be the mentality of the drivers themselves. If you get into a truck thinking it's just a paycheck, and you can halfass your way through it, you're not going to turn out to be a very good driver. Yes, the training criteria of some of these companies leaves much to be desired. At six months, you should not be training other drivers.
    I don't know much about Stevens Transport, but I considered working for them (as an experienced driver) when I was looking at going back to OTR. Looking at their training program, it seems (at least on paper) much more thorough than most of these other companies.

    swift bought them and the owner went to fed-pen for a couple years and it was 211 freedom dr n. Sioux City,SD would love to know why you thought that they were the worst. I started out with them and seen a lot worst.. just wondering
