Ranger, the thread is three years old. The OP went with Arrow which is now out of business.

Blahblahblah 'swift sucks' blahblahblah. You wanna know what its like, ready my thread on it. Its got the good and the bad, so far the company has not been bad, just one of my trainers.

Hrm, blatant homosexual slam twords a company that you dont work for. -ponders- Eh. 2/10 it wasnt even very funny. And while I would happily have a gay trainer to cuddle with, my trainer is straight, with three kids and a wonderful guy. moving on
stk53 Thanks this. -
Sorry drivers , with the Swift jokes, no harm intended to any of you. I just got carried away with the jokes. Sorry

I had a short stint with Swift back in 2003. Maybe I was lucky, I had a good trainer and driver manager. I made decent money (being 23 years old with no bills taking home about $600 a week was sweet), and the equipment was in good shape, granted I spent the night of Jan. 3, 2004 in Gunnison, Co. with a broken Opt. Idle and froze my ### off. They also never taught me how to put tire chains on. Training that would have come in handy when I approached the east ascent of Monarch Pass in a blizzard after dark seeing signs saying "Tire Chains Required". That was a fun night... Needless to say, I didn't feel bad telling my DM the next day that one set of them was gone. "I don't recall any course on putting them on... Sorry."
My one complaint about the company, and I don't know if they still do this, was their "student team" program. They take two guys fresh out of work-training, and stick them in a truck together. It sucked. I get along with *everyone*, but this guy and I must have come from different galaxies. At least he was a safe enough driver, and I survived my time in the sleeper berth.
All in all Swift was good to me. I did well OTR, and got on Regional after 2 months. I requested dedicated and got on an account within an hours' drive of my house after 6 months.
Heard a couple of clever acronyms too. One that comes to mind: S.W.I.F.T. "Sure Wish I Finished Training". -
I have a great trainer now, waiting to see on my DM, the truck has some kinks but they are cosmetic. There are courses now for chaining.
And they dont do that anymore, and im pretty sure that was Stevens not swift that did the dumb and dumber.
