    Sine, as in sine wave.
It's analog, vs. digital. It goes up and down following a smooth curve, as opposed to an up and down abrupt signal. Some equipment can't deal with it.

It's the same with a digital music CD versus a vinal record. Information is lost in the translation - a lot of information.
Digital is never as good as the analog original, just as the analog recording is never quite as good as a live performance.
But that distinction is lost these days.

You should try it some time.
Get the best digital copy of your favorite song, then get the 33LP and the equipment to play it properly.
That would mean a discrete 4 channel system and some very good speakers. Bose would be a good choice for the speakers.
    No comparison.

Heck, it's the same with the quality of video - these days.

Beta-Max was the standard until things went digital.
It took an array of several of the fastest hard drives and the fastest CPU's to deal with the data rates and quality.
Now, audio and video never seem to be in sync and the actual video quality is lousy.
That is what digital did to the high quality of analog video - because it is cheaper to produce.

And I was building those big expensive video editing workstations when digital hit the market, so I know exactly what effect it had.

If you have a true sine wave inverter in your truck you are lucky.
    They are much more expensive.

That they are. I purchased that 1500 watt inverter at the truck stop and paid to have it installed. It would power everything except my laptop. That is when I learned about Sine. Asked KW and was told that the proper invertor would have been around $400 back then. Now my little 150 watt invertor, laptop no problem but it is not going to power microwave.

Is there a significance with the colors of Swift trucks? Saw a dark blue leaving Columbus terminal and Silver as well. Both were Kenworths.

Although I like Luse's humorous response, it is not actually correct. back in the day only the L/O could get a non-white truck with a few exceptions for some dedicated accounts which ran black trucks due to customer preference. It is rare that a company driver will get a non-white truck, but they do recycle some of the L/O trucks back into the company fleets. It used to be that a first time lease operator had a choice between white or blue only, and could then get a different color upon signing for a second lease. A few years ago they relaxed that policy and started ordering various colored trucks, still mostly for the L/O fleet. No real significance to the colors today.

Swift installs 300W Samlex true sine wave inverters in company trucks if the driver has a CPAP machine. At least that's what they've installed in both my trucks; we'll see what I get on the next truck when we finally get tired to Phoenix...

At the Lancaster term.... There are silver, gold, dark blue, light blue, purple, lime green, red trucks.

But as a company driver, you get whatever they assign you. You can roll the dice by finding stuff that needs shop attention... That may get you a second assignment. Could be better may be worse.

Just because truck says lease to, not always lease op.... Our dedicated account has been getting several lease returns lately. No change in decals... Just get in it and drive!
