    OMG stay away from trucking!
You are going to kill us all!
Just kidding... just kinda lampooning all the other clowns that are so quick to cast the first stone.
If you decide to get back into trucking, good luck to you. I'm sure that you wont have any problem; especially since there is such an enormous driver shortage and standards are not set all that high as a result.

You may think those are all "minor", but each instance you cost the company a decent chunk of $ and the hittting the parked trailer and ripping the door off especially were ridiculously preventable. The 3rd instance I'll give you a pass on, it's happened to most of us.

Having said that though, you essentially flunked out of Swift halfway through your 1st year. And we all know that besides those 3 incidents, there were probably a couple others around the yard you didn't get caught doing and/or more really close calls out on the road. Not to be a dick, but as others have said, try something else. You didn't take enough pride the 1st time to be safe, no reason for a company to think anything would be different now. Good luck either way...

    Folks,
Those 3 "incidents: I wouldn't consider Major at all-
Runnin the scale (if on purpose) is the only concern...

Come on- We all,At some point Bumped something or 2.......
Street Time is the only thing to refine the OP's imperfections....

If He Truly wants to be a Trucker.....Shoot Why Not? There's Worse on the street as I Type this.

How do you run weight stations? They're completely lit up, and if you're driving on the right or middle lane you simply glance to the right.

Now, I'm not going to say that a driver that screws up bigtime cant become a solid driver. There was a driver here, @Chewy352 that
    1. decided to sign on with CR England.
    2. Rolled an England truck.

First thing that someone does wrong is sign on with a POS company like England. Definitely did try hard to invest in himself. It's like volunteering to be Bubba's girlfriend in prison, yet you have committed no crime.

"But Six, just in case I ever go to prison, I want to make sure I am okay."

You do understand that you dont have to go to prison dont you? Obey the law, and odds are you will never in life have to be an inmate's girlfriend. The only way I would go to a hole like CR England was if that was the only choice and it's not for vast majority of people getting their CDLs.

Then Chewy rolled a truck. After he rolled the truck, he straightened up, had to beat the bushes to find a job, and brought that A Game. Turned into a really good, dependable driver.

So yes, people can change. They can get serious about their craft. I just wish they would come in and ask for help BEFORE they screw up. Gives you much more options.

Great post, Six. And yes, Chewy is quite the example. I remember the journey. It's doable, for sure...with the A'Game mindset.

While yes, people can and do change in this case I'm not sure he has. The fact he seems to not think it's a big deal to have "minor" preventable. In my mind there is no such thing as a minor wreck. If a driver hits something he should not hit (a dock) and then come and posts it as 3 minor preventables is not learning.

If he had come in saying "I had 3 wrecks, I really learned, and would like to try again." I would be as helpful as I could be. As it is, he needs to first take full responsibility he screwed up. Once he gets his mind around the fact that it's a very bad thing to hit anything, then there is hope.
