Nah no claim. We finally got someone to repower the load. Basically just backed the loaded trailer up to the bulkhead of the other trailer and left it there for someone else to deal with. Bobtailed it to the Flying J and parked with 5 minutes left on the clock, like a boss. The lady had already signed the BOL and walked off angry before the #### fell out. We just threw it back in there. It was preloaded and presealed with no load locks. Thanks, Target.
Oh well. I got my hours and my miles, also I got a night time back, an angle back and a 90 degree. Pretty tight ### spot. As long as my clock is running, I am getting paid. Once I start getting paid for mileage, I might actually care a bit more.

This just shows how the comradery and brotherhood of trucking is being lost. Remember how we were brought up to always think of the next guy?
Or, to put a finer point on it:
You get a call from the boss asking you to pick up a trailer from Truckdad, TripleSix, or Carl. You know before you head out that the trailer will be in good shape and will be ready to go.
We can all think of certain drivers where you go to pick up a trailer and will always find the landing gear damaged, a flat tire, or other problem. An hour of work on their end, or at least a call to give people a heads up, would have saved the next guy many hours of work.
In a smaller company, these guys get rooted out pretty quickly. It's probably easier to hide in the mega companies.
And by the way, RedRover, that wasn't aimed at you. Just something I saw a lot of when I was pulling refridgerated trailers.Last edited: Nov 14, 2016

Dude we reloaded the #### trailer and stacked it from the bulkhead. Nothing is going to fall out. We left the door slamming for someone who needed a load, and we went on our way. Neither of us was going to legally be able to complete the delivery.

I know what you mean. We woke up this morning and bobtailed to grab a trailer. Coupled the trailer, checked the lights and went to check the... 4 tires that were missing huge chunks of tire. We had to drag it 3 miles to the terminal outside SLC and have all new tires out on the trailer. Then we we're building pressure to gtfo of there and make this load, when the dude tells us he needs to replace a brake chamber and he might as well put some new brakes on. 5 hours of my clock gone again.
So I am hauling ### out of there, 68 mph downhill and an idiot swerved right out in front of me. Loaded trailer to my right, can't go left. Can't really slam on the brakes. Dude got close enough for me to read the text he was busy sending.
Had to pull over and smoke a cigarette after that one. Very close call. Nice skid marks there for DOT, should I have hit him. Nearly puked, I thought that ####ing guy was a goner.
Anyway, I burned a third of my clock today making sure the next guy who grabs this trailer(preplanned tcall in Lancaster) can get it safely to its destination. I'm not some #######. I reloaded what was supposed to be a drop and hook, became a live unload, with our load locks. We had to also get more of those today. Perhaps I wasn't clear. Nobody got screwed over but us.Lepton1 Thanks this.
