They must not be hurting that bad, I put an app in last week with 7 years heavy haul under my belt and they havent called me at all. I need a refresher though.

Schmud said we're hurting for flatbed mentors. Coming in off the street with 7 years heavy haul, while excellent experience, does not qualify someone to train Swift's methods. That said, I do hope they call you soon. Since they haven't yet, perhaps it's time to be the squeaky wheel. Start bugging them until they give you a job just so you'll stop calling. It works far more often than you'd think. With your previous experience, you may be able to jump into mentoring far sooner than the average new hire...as soon as you're versed in Swift's ways. It would be nice to have someone training who understands the tensile strength of chain and strap. Considering a few of the securement jobs I have seen.

BTW, congrats, Buckeye. Glad you decided to come over to the team.

I've pulled vans for years, but I can honestly say being a flatbedder at Swift tends to spoil you to the point when they throw you back under the van planners and CSRs your stress level goes through the roof :biggrin_25523:

Generally we don't have as much confusion and misinformation because there are fewer people handing the flatbed side of things. Not to mention the 2am appointments are non existent (and I am proud to say I am pretty well a solar powered driver which isn't compatible with the van or reefer world). For me, flatbed was the closest I could get to a 7-5p M-F OTR job :biggrin_2559:

    WORD!!!
I like flatbed because you can actually call a planner ,message the planner and give him or her a heads up when your going to be in their area. :biggrin_25525:
