I’m just a small mom and pop. I could shut down for a year and then start back up. Easy to take for granted the risks the larger carriers make. They have thousands of employees, equipment, legal fees, real estate, etc.. A drop in sales can change things greatly. Even all the people making all the decisions when they’re out of money still collect paycheck. The money just keeps on flowing out. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Swift fleet msg..send in macro 39 before backing up..wth??

Because if you were on any other line, any halfway-competent attorney would be asking why you weren't on line 3 while moving the CMV.buzzarddriver Thanks this.

FMCSA has approved "yard move", and my company's lawyers are fine with backing on line 4, so I think I'm good.
-
We're only allowed to use yard move while on company property. I don't know if that's an FMCSA thing or a company thing though.
-
Company thing. FMCSA has been dragging their feet on clarifying what is meant as a "yard", so companies all have different rules.JC1971 and RockinChair Thank this.

Private property.

I am not understanding this. Swift is so concerned about backing accidents that they want you to be distracted by dicking around on the qualcomm or whatever they use before you actually back? Huh? This kind of crap can't be real.
RockinChair Thanks this.
