This isn't really worth comment. What a ridiculous statement to say a company is supplying its drivers with substances that would place them out of service.
Obviously, you do not know much about the rules regarding out of country trucks hauling freight within our borders. While I oppose the Mexican truck program because of safety issues the concern about them hauling "our" freight is unfounded. Just like British Airways, for example cannot fly from London to New York and then on to Los Angeles (they can only fly from London to New York OR London to LA), the same rules apply to the hauling of freight. They are only allowed to bring loads into the United States and then pick up a load in the United States returning to Mexico.
And yes a company and driver have responsibility for what is on the truck but that is a limited responsibility when dealing with pre-sealed trailers. If you pick up a sealed trailer with a BOL, do you open the trailer and inpsect the entire contents of the trailer before completing your drop and hook? NO! You pick up a sealed trailer and head towards the consignee. If law enforcement asks you to break the seal and open the trailer you are required to do so. If there is stuff in the trailer that is not on the BOL you would not be aware of that since you picked up the sealed trailer. The only time you, as the driver, become fully responsible (and liable for penalty) is if you observed the trailer being loaded. If it is pre-sealed, you accept responsibility to haul what is listed on the BOL to its destination.

jerryl, come down off your highr horse amigo. If you reread my second post to this NEWS ARTICAL ( NOT OPINION ), you will see I do not think Swift has any culpability. I just found it ironic in light of the raid of the driving school on Swift property. These two incedints in such a short period of time has got to be a public relations nightmare for them. That's my ONLY piont.
However, if facts seem to trouble you...I'd say that's a personal problem for which I can't help you. -

As for the the comment about buying Swift equipment, maybe it was a bad attempt to inject some light hearted humor into an otherwise serious situation for the company, and this, again, was not intended as a negative slight to any Swift driver, or the company itself. -
Can anyone spell RECRUITER??? ROFLMAO!!!!!
