Two things 1) If you drink and climb into any truck you deserve to loose your job. 2) This has to be the longest growning thread, and it was only started 3 days ago. :biggrin_25525:

I think Swift did the right thing and this thread should be moved out of the BAD trucking company thread. They showed good judgment in this case!

For years I've hoped that the drug and alcohol testing would push people away from wanting to drive truck, then maybe wages would go up for the rest of us.....

I have been reading the best I can the post written in the last couple of days
You all have great post's and idea's
But truck driving is a hard life!!!!!
If your lucky you get home every two or three weeks
Figuring out when your going to shower, bathroom breaks and every little facet of life that local or non drivers get every day when they are at home
    But for groups like MAD
And some of the feminist movement who See's all sex as rape
    There is no middle ground
Sure he could have driven, but didn't
    He lives in his truck
There in no difference if he had parked in the super 8 parking lot and drank like a fish in his room and slept if off

Sure there's a difference...it's not illegal to drink in a Super 8. And yes, trucking can be a hard life, but if it's so hard that you need to pound 8 beers within a few hours before you go back to work, maybe you need to find a different line of work.
I don't see anything wrong with having 1 or 2 while you're on your break, but if you feel the need to pound 'em down like that, then you need to tell dispatch that you're gonna get a room for a 34 hour reset, and keep your ### outta the truck.

I'll take that in consideration thanks

The story is getting a little shaded after all these post's
He wasn't to drive in three hours
All it said was he was arrested three hours after he was seen entering his truck with the beer
