Swift has driver arrested.

I don’t support drunk driving at all but I also don’t support arresting a guy relaxing in his home away from home just because that home is capable of moving. It’s one thing to have a couple if you are sitting waiting for a load with hours available and another to have some after driving your 11 and in no danger of driving again for another 10. Still, eight is pushing it. Some people just can’t handle their sauce.

 

This is too common.I witnessed a guy get arrested in Ga and one in Texas for Dwi cmv.Its a no brainer.Get a room.

 

When I was OTR years ago, I found that you could get away with quite a bit if you did it quietly. Stay off the CB, don't tell anyone your business, that sort of thing.

 

I don't condone impaired driving of anything.
I'll admit to doing it myself.
Maybe it's just me getting older and reminiscing but I believe people in general took personal responsibility and acceptable behavior more serious back then.
I remember when I started out and seeing the old hands at the truck stops out barbecuing and drinking cans of beer, socializing and just generally bullsh**ing.
We were there for the night and just relaxing. We certainly didn't have the type of sleepers and amenities we have today.
I'm also sure some did stupid stuff just like today, we just never heard about it.
