Its a mathamatical fact just do to the VAST # of trucks SWIFT has on the road that you would likely see more involved in accidents / dumb incidents if only a small % of their trucks were actually involved.

So,, if anyone is thinking of joining Swift and have to go to Greer SC for orientation,, try to get another terminal.[/QUOTE]
if i had to come off the road and work in the office and some rookie come in running his mouth i would shred his stuff too
when i had no experience and needed a job i went to the school in troutdale and kept my mouth shut. i did my best to get qualified and learn the job and lived in that truck for two and a half years and got the experience and was greatful for the opportunity and have been working for a medium size company going home every day for thirteen yearsTruckerDragon and Buckeye 'bedder Thank this. -
I didnt read anything in the original posters comments about him "going in and running his mouth", just that somebody messed up and shredded his paperwork. If 25 people came into "the office" everyday and ran their yaps, would that mean 25 medical files would have been shredded?
I can understand everyone being grateful that someone employed them and gave them a chance and defending them. Heck, when I first started no one would hire me, not even Swift, I had to go to the very bottom and work for J.B. But lets face it, at some point your company will get bashed and because of the size some will get it more than others. No one is exempt. I heard it for years but at the same time everyone was bashing J.B., you would also hear it about Viking, Schnider, Yellow or Roadway, Crst, Covenant, Willig, Werner, Stephens, Willie Shaw, CF, etc.....the list can go on and on and you can either let it bother you, or let it roll off your backLast edited: Dec 4, 2010

being on vacation for a week, i've got some catch up reading to do. I first read this, and thought "gary the finest terminal?"....??? glad to see you were just joking. HAHAHAH
gary shop is actually pretty good. fuel is half way reasonable, but i dont like staying there unless i've spoken to my priest. -
Was that the Xmas Eve Storm?canuck in da truck Thanks this.

you know, out of that video, i saw 2 FedEx trucks (maybe 3) and NO swift trucks? Hmmmmmmm......thought if swift drivers sucked as bad as some claim, there should have been atleast 1 or 2.
Think more independant truckers get in trouble, because they seem to not want to ever slow down, cause they just cant make their brain talk to their right foot well enough. They're more interested in how much money they can make, and totally forget about road conditions. Forget that if they wreck, the load will probably be rejected, they wont make delivery on time, not get paid for the load, and have to claim it on insurance, so their insurance rates goes up. Lets not forget the $2,000 tow bill and the $$$ to thaw out and repair the truck. Let them risk $10,000 for a load that pays $900. its just stoooopid to me. -

exactly. i thought about hitting the road and my research showed me all the big companies are in the ata and have the same equipment the same speed the same procedures. and i would make less for lots more hours. -
The place, and the people there, just absolutely gave me the creeps. I was stuck there for a day because we went in to get fuel, and one of the wheels on the trailer was leaking grease. We took it into their shop, and they took six hours to change the grease seal, then two more hours because they put it together with the wrong grease and had to do it all over. Their shop supervisor was rude, mechanics were incompetent, there was no Internet, no comfortable chairs. We sat there all day on plastic chairs, with continuous basketball on a television and the local natives running around, screaming and pretending to be basketball players, like a bunch of ghetto children. To top it all off (no pun intended), their fuel pumps didn't even work. I never went back to Gary after that, for fuel or anything else.
OK, Swift worshippers. Go ahead and defend the Gary terminal. Tell me how everything that happened in Gary was my fault somehow. I need a good laugh.
