I don't see nearly as many UPS, YRC, or FedEx trucks involved in the wipeout accidents you often see Swift involved in, and the number of trucks on the road combined.

Experience and training - (or lack of it), has a lot more to do with it.

It was the one earlier in December. I couldn't remember because I got caught up in both storms but that video is from the earlier one. The date says Dec. 10.

whaaaaa.....they had no internet.....whaaaaaa. whos fault is that? Swift need Wi-Fi at every terminal just for you? If its so important to 'stay connected', i'd suggest getting a USB internet card. problem solved. dont have comfortable chairs? whaaaaaaaa. you sit in the drivers seat all the time. the last thing i want to do is SIT SOME MORE.

i could say the very same thing about whats on the TV and everyones actions, of the memphis terminal. I was there once, and the end of a Nascar season....they were racing in Phoenix (2nd to last race i believe) and everyone had been watching football ALL DAY. a couple guys wanted to watch part of the race, but nautrally there was one (just one?) loud mouth "malcom x" type leader, asking for a show of hands who wanted to watch football or racing. Naturally all the brothas raised their hands to watch football, while this guy and maybe 2 others (not me) raised their hand to watch some racing.

it got so bad a fistfight almost broke out, and i jump up and said "god dam, how old are you guys" and left the driver lounge. as i did, one of the FMs on duty came out and unplugged the TV.

Morella, maybe you were part of the 'gang' in memphis? cause you both sure whine alot....about things that are so trivial.

ZENTRUCKING you better go read the STATS on both companies SWIFT / UPS ( yes more vehicles )

For out of SERVICE they are basically tyed and SWIFT has 1 more FATAL than UPS but 91 less accidents with injurys

This is where predetermined ideas of companies come. Some non driver hears stories and repeats.

What, specifically, would you suggest? If you have some useful advice, I'll listen.

Then don't sit. Take a walk through the ghetto instead. problem solved.

It's good to have a babysitter at terminals, because they are full of screaming children, the losers who can't even afford to spend the night at a truck stop, much less a hotel, sitting there watching basketball because the game is more important to them than the load that they're receiving on the Qualcomm. That's why I don't go to a terminal, except to hook or drop a trailer.

Obviously you haven't read many of my posts, or you would realize that "part of a gang", any 'gang', is exactly what I am not.

Fair enough, just a personal observation - but do you got a link for that stat?

Not trying to pile on Swift drivers in general - but writing off the overall number of accidents as just a statistical anomaly is disingenous.
