    It’s not just drivers.
Mrs roundhouse is an accountant. she gets emails texts and phone calls several times a week from places begging for accountants but the ones that mention the salary range are about half of what she earns with her current employer.

sadly these places have no idea that their competition has already hired most all the best and brightest accountants and is paying them very very well.

One of their prospective new hires was working part time 1099 and as soon as their employer got wind of them leaving for a full time W2 position , they got offered a full time W2 with a nice raise to keep them from leaving .
The smart companies don’t wait until someone is thinking about leaving to offer a raise .

nowdays the best way to get a good employee is to poach them from someone else.
At least that way you know they are working instead of sitting at home collecting the fedgov free money .

SWIFT buys phone number lists and spams them. I get those texts a couple times a year, and I've never applied to SWIFT in my life and I'm an O/O.

Reminds me of car insurance co's. Thay all claim to lower your rate by "hundreds of dollars". So you call for a quote and it's twice what you're paying now! Then they have the nerve to e/mail you 2 weeks later and say we have a new quote and you'll like it !

The last time I applied to Swift, back in 2016, they said I was "not eligible for rehire" I applied a few times after that and was told the same thing. It appears that they hold grudges! Besides it's cheaper to sweet talk new people into their 'driving academy" and start them out cheap, than to hire someone with experience who wants more coin.

Since Knight acquired them, I'm not sure how things are evolving or devolving.
