I stand corrected,I didn't want to imply this is how swift payed their teams, I just drew from my experience. (with another co.)

Hey no problem! The ONLY company I know about is Swift.
J-money Thanks this. -
Texas-nana I was thinking about teaming with Swift...do you like it? How are the miles and hometime? I am looking for a good company to go with plase help me...any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

She didn't say, as far as i saw atleast, what her rate was.
$1750 dont even sound worth it.
They don't figure out what % of miles are driven at any company i have ever heard of. I've team drove before, and it was split 50/50 no matter what was driven. Issues of one person being lazy can be resolved by the team... -
i go to swift next week cant wait really...i was thinking about going to western express but i think im glad i didnt. can someone tell me who a good trainer is? i was told by my recruiter thats its only about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks with the trainer as long as he lets you drive...any advice would be helpful thanks

So Nana, let me see if I got this straight...I admit i'm not the brightest bulb on the Xmas tree so bare with me. You mean that say you and your husband run 6,000 total truck miles one week. What sounds like you're saying is you will be paid your rate of pay...say .30 per mile x 6,000 and your husband will be paid his rate of pay...say .30 per mile x 6,000...correct?

Highly unlikely, when I ran team with schneider we were each paid around 17 cpm for total truck miles. I'm gonna say that swift is probably around the same, no way are they gonna pay each driver 30 cpm they would be losing money on each load if they did.Hitman Thanks this.

You don't get to pick your trainer, they pick one for you. The first one they gave me back in 1999 was an idiot with only 6 months experience who also felt that women had no business driving trucks. I put up with him for 4 weeks (then they required 6 weeks with a trainer). The second trainer they set me up with was really cool and I learned a lot from him.

yep they will both be paid on the 6000 miles whatever their pay scale isHitman Thanks this.

I can't speak for Nana but I believe the team pay is like this:
The truck travels 6,000 miles and the truck is paid .32-.36cpm. Which breaks down to about .16-18cpm per driver. In Nana's case, being she and her husband pay to the same household is a win win situation and a healthy paycheck.Hitman Thanks this.
