*gently rubs my nose and tries again*

I'm sorry if I'm confusing people about how teams are paid at Swift. To me it's pretty clear so obviously somehow I'm not communicating well.

Swift quotes a pay rate for teams.....however if one of the two drivers have been with the company longer they may actually make two different pay rates.

So......after my husband had his one year in he made a higher pay rate than I did until I met my one year.

Pay is figured by multiplying the total milage of the runs for the truck (6000 miles a week) times the individual driver's pay rate. It is not calculated by a pay rate for the truck and then divided into two equal checks.

Frankly.......to understand this.......maybe y'all could just forget that I'm married to my team mate. Some people keep circling back to that point and my marriage isn't the basis of my pay..........miles and pay rate are what my pay comes from. :biggrin_25525:

As for chosing a mentor: no you can't......exactly. If you know a particular mentor you can request him/her. And a female student can certainly request a female mentor. She may have to wait......but she will not be forced to have a male mentor.

Just to clarify: "the little boss lady" is accustomed to L/O--O/O pay settlements...when I was "teaming" (both with student and a regular team co-driver) the truck got paid a specific rate per mile and I paid my co-driver.

Swift figures total miles the truck gets, divide by 2, and pay respective driver team rate for the experience level...a real headache in payroll department for sure. their web site should show team pay rates.

I'd rather like the set up with the O/O and L/O *smiles wickedly* We agreed that if we went that way I'd be the L/O and hubby would be my employee. I'd pay him like a slave. LOL sorry sorry but I would!!!!!!

You see he could draw Social Security if he got paid just a little.

Then just give him an allowance for coin in his pocket...no need to really pay him...except then he would have to spend his whole allowance on the "PIE PLACE" when Nana and "the herd" go!

    Or was that a "gaggle"?:biggrin_25514:

Any truck you want to buy...go ahead...just check on the age of the truck...that is the only catch, I think 5 years old to start with.

    Someone correct me but a 379 with a 63in weighs more than a 670 Volvo similarly spec'd.
