Hey OH, I was told that Swift is no longer allowing o/os to purchase trucks from other than Swift.
Now this info could indeed be wrong.
I've had no need to check it out since we're staying company.

I'm sure your info is more up to date than mine...and I don't doubt you at all. I heard (can't verify the validity of the source, but) that they were advertising for outside O/O to lease on...but that was a couple months ago before freight started to move as it is!
I'm just going by what it was...you know back when I was grinding rocks so I could say I was older than dirt!!!!!

...back when you could say you were older than dirt????? I think that was yesterday, wasn't it?
Blue Screen and otherhalftw Thank this. -
Nope...last week..."the little boss lady" made me wash my hands!
JustSonny Thanks this. -

Just passing thru was exactly right. I've been out of trucking 15years. I have to go thru CDL school again, but I drove up to Swift in Phoenix, I had not even got a call after doing the e-application. I talked to a driver manager, then a recruiter and then a Terminal manager. I showed them my TMC 12week course cert., my 100K, 250K & 500K miles accident free driving Certs, and numerous letters from customers(Griffen pipe and John Deer). Well I'll go thru my CDL course at home and go into Flatbed load securement class at Swift then a few weeks with a older(like me) trainer and start at the 3year pay level. Hold on to this stuff, hell today most of you can scan it at the terminal, e-mail it to yourself and save it on your laptop. Much more secure than the 3-ring binder I had 15 years ago.
SgailDreugan, JustSonny and Blue Screen Thank this. -
As my Neighbor(Sweet gig, temp controlled-Flowers only) say freight and traffic are picking up in spite of the government. So hopefully you will be spending less time in terminals and TS and more driving.
