I was with swift for 18 months ,
and had i kept my mouth shut a little more who knows , i might still be there ...
I never hurt for miles , just thee opposite if anything . example ~ when coming off hometime i would get runs from albany ga. to laredo tx
then maybe go from paris to Napoleon ohio , run all over the state , stop in columbus , do some local stuff on saturday then get a nice trip leaving sunday . i would go in the terminals and see a bunch of drivers sitting on thier arses crying about no miles / frieght as i was picking up paperwork for trailers sitting right outside . They didnt want to work , period.
Is swift the greatest ? Probably not , but what co. is ? And i can name worse without much thought.
Truth is ANYONE entering this field of work is going to have issues / problems no matter what company they start with , its just the nature of the job . YOU have to learn to adapt to it .
In summary , id tell anyone that for whatever the reason had to start with a " mega " carrier they could do a whole lot worse than swift .FerrissWheel, Voodoo Pyg and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
was that an insult?

Now I think he's just stating a fact that too many drivers are lazy yes we know some of these companies are not the greatest but there's a lot of lazy drivers that don't want to work but still want a checkjohnwayne187 and G13Tomcat Thank this.

^^^^ BEST answer~!
and, O/P . . . whether or not you cross them off your list is neither here nor there; depending on what you have going on, or 'don't', they may be a good start... to say the least. Like above poster said, in a nutshell, starter companies are what you make them.
Laziness, and the 'POOR ME' / no miles syndrome is across the board for the 1st 6 months to a year.
Best of luck. -
