Gotta know the difference between fairy tales and truck driver stories.

Fairy tales start with, "once upon a time........."

Truck driver stories start with, "you ain't gonna believe this XXXX!"

You on meds for Asperer's? Might need to check.

I personally do not have a heat bill at home, nor do I pay for fuel, so I can't answer the first. But I do know that groceries cost pretty much the same whether I buy them in Louisiana or Virginia or Ohio. Now if you cook at home and eat out on the road, of course it will cost more to be on the road. But it's not necessary to do that, especially since you say you know how to cook. I eat out once or twice a month, and that's only for a treat. Part of the reason I'm a trucker is to fatten my bank account. So, yes, I do look for ways to save. Also, I eat quite well. Not living on bologna sandwiches and canned soup.

I think I hear it from the truckers who won't prepare their own meals for one reason or another. As I said, common sense, it does cost more to eat out than to buy some groceries. But that's a choice, not a necessity. It is possible to eat good food while on the road without eating in restaurants every day. I can't abide someone making the choice of the more expensive way, and then complaining about the cost.

Lol...and no I don't take any meds at all, I manage my anxiety with meditation and breathing excercises, and a few other techniques that I have learned over the years, I don't like taking pills and avoid it if at all possible.

I actually find driving very calming and therapeutic, it's one of the few things I've found that I'm good at..=)

In my class, I was in the truck with this add guy, and while waiting for other people he was going nuts, touching everything, fiddling with this or that, but he was a #### good driver, was jumping straight onto a jbs dedicated cattle account at grad. I enjoy talking to people on the phone though, everyone is mostly stuffy and I be a semi dick, I was talking to mayra at swift in pheonix, and we jabbered about me not rocking up to orientation (cause i moved it to the 27, and kevin didnt tell anyone it seems =P) and then started talking about the holidays, how her and her sister are hitting the town together, talking to people is great
