I work the Phoenix to Van Horn, TX dedicated shuttle for Swift. I brought my truck from outside of Swift, and its paid off. My current 26 week average per mile is $1.49. My current 52 week average per mile is $1.41. 560 miles one way x $1.40 is $784 one leg or $1568 gross round trip. If you don't know your 26 and 52 week averages for revenue, expenses, fuel mileage, hours driven and tax withholdings then you are a poor Owner Operator and most probably leaving lots of money on the table. I use Pro Trucker IV software in my iPad. Every receipt scanned, picture taken and entry I make gets transmitted directly to my file at my CPA. Great investment.
I buy all of my fuel in Fabens, TX, at Shell. Its always 12-15 cents less oer gallon than Flying J/Pilot with the Swift discount.
I drive 10 days on/5 days off. I live in Tucson on I-10 so I get 1, sometimes 2, overnights at home during that 10 days of driving. I see 6-7 frosty mornings a year, and see snow once every 4-5 years. There are 2 hills at Benson, AZ and 1 hill at Las Cruces, NM, the rest is flat 75-80mph, I cruise at 66mph , the center of my truck's highway mpg sweet spot, El Paso traffic is sometimes a bear. Shuttle loads never exceed 34K pounds, usually 22-24K pounds. I've averaged 8.86mpg for the last 52 weeks.
The lesson here is that Swift has hundreds of niche routes you learn of word of mouth.

actually you have a good point. I made good money at Swift once , but it was a specialized dedicated account. When they figured out what I was making they kept throwing me off the account. Funny

Bam nail on the head !!!
You are a business person that is driving a truck.

Wow, truly a man with his game in order.
Im signing on with Swift next week running Shuttle in Riverside/ San Bernardino area. I plan on doing the exact business model your doing , purchasing a truck from a dealer and bring it on to Swift in the future.

You must be either being sarcastic, or a troll.
 Both perhaps?

You may want to check that ... I believe Swift has stopped taking on O/O's in California ... You can thank AB5 for that.InTooDeep Thanks this.

No, neither. I understand the money is a bit funny. Im a retiree 2 yrs into the trucking industry with a modest pension, getting rich isnt something om looking to get out of this , the freedom is the most important alone with a decent profit is cool too....Moosetek13 Thanks this.

The reason for the universal response you've gotten is because there IS no profit in being an O/O or an L/P with Swift, nor is there any true freedom. In fact, it'll set you up for a massive loss. I HIGHLY recommend finding a different company for this reasonIntothesunset Thanks this.
