I have 1-2 days too, but one week ago 60 drivers were waiting load in NY area, yesterday 70 in Columbus and today 45 in Buffalo. Sent almost 100 macro 10 and 30. Planner just said - red bubble . Not sure that is true.
I am on Amazon OTR in California and I requested to get switch back to OTR. You can have my route. Trust me, it sux.
Dedicated should be renamed to DediSux. If the actual accounts are anything like I've experienced with Walmart and Target while 'helping out' during their busier times is any indication, it does suck. And I hate anything to do with Amazon.
Good morning. Yes traffic. Plenty loads. 350 - 400 miles per load. No extra pay. You will burn your 14 hr on each load with busy traffic and then fight to find parking. Everyday you are within minutes of violating HOS. If you don’t know where to find parking in busy city with no truck stops, you are screwed. I had a load delivers to Newark CA at 2 PM. After fighting traffic on 580 and 680 and 880, and only have 1 hour left on my 14, and no truck stops near by, so pretty much screwed. And that load is only 350 miles. Not worth it. And plenty loads like that. Now if you drive a day cab and do the local Amazon loads, that may be worth it.
A company based big as Swift can't keep drivers busy? I can count the times one hand that I've ever had to sit. I can't understand that. Are they too big?
Based on my (limited) experience there, I'd say yes. Lack of internal communication, poor work ethic on the party of some, by no means all, employees, technology problems.
