Cool, I appreciate the extra info especially those helpful hints on what to do and not to do. I won't have a problem with a S.O. since we are separated and she doesn't contact me most of the time except when she wants money. I'll put the phone on "ignore" when she calls.
I'll keep that in mind about the mattress. Good idea about the flannel sheets. I have a sleeping bag I'm going to bring but I would have never known about the flannel sheets and traction. I'll have to figure out something with the food so I don't get fat all over again.
I'm a little nervous about being able to fall asleep when the truck is moving. I"ve heard that before, about it being difficult. I have some over the counter sleep pills that maybe I'll bring along. Pop them about an hour before sleeping, if I'm not driving. I changed my home terminal back to Sumner, WA. I didn't think we would get overtime but figured I would throw it out there anyway.
I have some riding boots that I think will double ok for some winter boots. I'll bring some tennis shoes too. Wont be wearing any shoes in the sleep area per your advice.
My newest and only speed bump I've hit is my DOT physical place gave me copies of my DOT long form even though I asked for the originals. They told me they keep the originals but it sounds like, according to my recruiter, that I should have the originals. I would think the same. So I need to get those now.
I'll start posting up my experience with Swift as soon as I leave. I'll try not to make it too redundant but I figure it can't hurt for other new recruits. I may have to post up after the fact unless they have internet at the hotel in Lewiston. I dont have the mobile internet so I may just handwrite some notes until I can type them up on here.
Keep us posted on your experience as a solo driver. Sounds like you got a pretty cool truck.
