I'm living in GA. Millington quit taking people from GA, they ship them to SLC, utah now. I had my permit beforehand. I don't have a clue about getting your permit through them. Three or four people in my class did the veteran's deal, and asked a few questions so Tony explained it to the class. That's how I know what happens with it. I took the team agreement, which I don't think many people are told about. Swift actually forgives one teammates loan after 90,000 miles

As far as my training, we are headed home for a week because greer is backed up on road training. We passed all our evals on the range.
Our instructors Kevin and Walter were great and did their best to make sure everyone got the help they needed to get the hang on backing and manuevers. You just have to apply yourself. Check out my thread on here and we talk a bit more about day to day

    Sean_Reno Thanks this.

I'm living in MS and they have a permit class I have to attend a few days before cdl class begins. I'm still waiting on some questions to be answered by my recruiter. So, all in all would you recommend SWIFT and Millington?

Yeah, so far me and adventuress have had a great experience. We obviously would have loved to be able to afford to go the community college route, but it's tough to get financed, and I wasn't eligible for any state grants because I hadn't been a resident for over a year and filed taxes in the state.

The main thing I keep telling people is that where most schools stretch this curriculum into 6-8 weeks. It's still the same amount of seat/driving time for certification...they just put it into 3 weeks at swift. It's 10-11 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It's fair to say it's an accelerated course. So you need to be prepared to handle your business. They will give you everything you need to pass, but much like college, it's up to you to apply yourself and learn the material. If you can do that, and ask questions when you have them. You'll do fine.

    Sean_Reno and Moosetek13 Thank this.

Well, today I received the paperwork for SWIFT's Veteran's Scholarship. It covers full tuition and the $500 housing fee for a 12-month commitment.

I'm moving to Memphis this week. I have to do a few things yet, but then I start.
