Would be nice of those who seek to dis Swift would have actually worked for Swift. I mean just so we keep the information FIRST hand.
I work for them and I have some not so nice things to say , BUT at the same time I also have about the same amount of nice things to say. So it kinda washes out I guess
They get it first hand from their brother, whose girlfriends uncle has a friend that knows a guy whose 3rd cousin knew another dude whose sister dated a guy that used to work for Swift. It doesn't get any more first hand than that!
The same can be said for virtually any company. Swift is going to give me a start in a new industry. I know I'll have to work hard and learn loads <pardon the pun> about the industry. Here's my contention. In any situation, in any industry, you can focus on the negatives, or see the positives and come up with solutions for the not so positive. I'd rather work for a company I KNOW has freight ALL YEAR LONG, because they are the largest carrier in the States. Are there not so good things, sure, but I'm going to learn all I can and then decide how to proceed.
There is usually freight..not always the freight you want but they will offer you some kind of load..up to you if your willing to take it or not...There is good and bad in all company's..swift is no different...Swift will let you run or they will let you sit..depending on your ambition..As a solo driver, i used to average 3100-3300 miles a week but when im out on the road i am out there to work not sit...I can sit at home...They have been good to me for past 4 yrs and im content for now...Of course..a lot of us not so happy with the new pay rates but thats okay...it will work out in the end...And for that guy that laughs at me when he sees "leased to" on my truck...im guessin he just bought his dinner with his points at the pilot...Dont laugh at me..i make good money with my truck Swift has always done right by me so far...I am not satisfied with the pay rates for us but its ok..i have the option to not take it and continue to do what i been doing...If you cant get miles...dont get mad and quit..talk to your Dm or change dm if you need to...change your home terminal if thats what it takes but talk to someone and try to fix it first...
