Check into WIA funding. Check at your local government training place.....owe no one anything!

Check the school section in this site.

They used to have there own school but they closed it last year.

But they DO pay you back for your school up to $4500!

$4500 leaves you in debt. WIA funding will pay for some 3 week schools ($3000+) My school was $1400 for 36 days. It was TN Tech.

What????? How does that leave you in debt? As long as your school doesn't cost more then $4500 then you get every penny back....and not everyone qualifies for WIA funding or has the time to wait 6 months for the Government to do there paper work.

You have to pay it back? You are in debt. Gotta stay there or move it elsewhere.

It took me a few days to get approved. Signing a contract with a trucking company to pay back an over priced loan wasn't in my plan.

Do what you want. I offered a possible alternative solution.

Lets face it a large percentage of people don't stick with trucking. Many less than 6 months........

    OK I see the problem,

The word Reimbursement Means: They will pay YOU back

So YOU pay for a private school, then when YOU go to work for a company the company Reimburses YOU for the money YOU paid for school, YOU get PAID back.......You See?

    Theres no contract.....

If just starting out do dry van.

No refer unit to worry about breaking down. no trailer washouts- no pallet exchanges- less bunk noise- less get their by 0200 and have the same appt as 50 other trucks And 5 docks. Far less lumper hiring. Far less claims problems or rejected or refused frt. No refer fuel. less grocery whses that treat drivers like dirt

The only plus I saw running refer over dry Was that you can haul dry and refer frt .

Granted I only ever drove for 1 refer outfit KLLM but that was enough for me. Most of your money is made running miles and hanging out at your avg Grocery whse puts a dent in the ability to run miles in my experiences.

But hey some guys like running refer, I'm just not one of them.
