This is where it gets really confusing on this forum. Folks give me advice saying do the 3-6 months at Swift, SNI, Western whoever and move onto greener pastures within trucking.
Swift or SNI?

Some folks stay there and make decent money for years. My advice is pick one you have a plan to stay with. Ty hat plan can always change if they fail to live up to what you need. But going in on a countdown clock seems silly to me.
I would vote swift but I hate Punkin after having worked there one week. They have way to many BS rules, way to many office monkeys attempting to justify their existence enforcing them, and mandatory apnea testing for everyone.
Best thing that could happen to that company is a stock crash and bankruptcy IMHO.
Swift has issues as well, but I hate SNI. For whatever that is worth.Rocknroller4 Thanks this. -

Yeah and they pay 5 office monkeys at every terminal to watch drivers for demerits.
It is worse than being a boot.
Just constant nitpicking, gotcha type crap. And they will flat out lie to get folks on an account just to try and guilt you into staying after you discover their lie.
Pretty sure they fired the punk down in Bessemer after they were thrown off the account. But it seemed company wide in my limited experience.Odin's Rabid Dog and Rocknroller4 Thank this. -
Have a friend with Swift seems to be enjoying working for them. Sure, the teasing if I drive for Swift will be annoying but it is what it is I guess. No idea if they will be like SNI when it comes to the nitpicking you mentioned. Apparently, SNI have been losing certain accounts too. Few people mentioned that on the SNI facebook page.

Do the heavy haul based out of Troutdale, Oregon with Swift. Especially if you can go to Canada. Stay for a year and come to Central Oregon Truck Company when you have a year experience. It’s flatbed but our quad fleet guys run the western 11 and make 104k per year plus. Only requires a year experience
dwells40, Rocknroller4 and Chinatown Thank this. -
Got paid more at sni than i did with swift and didn't sit around forever either. Theyre both entry level companies, my experience with sni was better than it was at swift.
Everyone's experience is different, of course. Greener pastures really start opening up at around the 2 year mark. So, you shouldn't go in with the plan to quit, whichever you choose. Can always leave whenever you want.Rocknroller4 Thanks this. -
i looked at both too but went with schn cuz it paid alot better

If you're considering Swift, don't worry about a ten speed, as 80+% of the fleet is automated transmissions.
