Browsville to Laredo = approx 204 miles
    (nearest Swift terminal)

Brownsville to San Antonio = approx 270 miles
(nearest Raider dropyard -- another hour of driving, in both directions)

Plus: no national terminal network, much fewer dropyards, etc.....

    :dontknow:

But....you're right....it is yet another possible option for rookies.

These issues were not a problem with Schneider.

Overnight parking at dropyards was always fair game.

    Plus one...for Schneider? :p

When talking with the Stevens recruiter i asked him how would i get home for time off. He said we will find you a route. Our routes are planned so you have a delivery close by. We will plan a delivery that ends close to your home. We will find somewhere that you can leave tge truck for the days off.

That is encouraging but find out the specific address of the authorized location and see if that works for you. You've got a lot of good information here, All The Best!

can you guys help me with questions how I should ask the Stevens recruiter about getting back home. Is the term 'backyard' what I should ask??

    Promises, promises, promises.....

Make recruiting give you a specific answer on this hometime parking issue...before you accept the job/leave for their training.

Make sure the answer they give you is in fact a working solution for you (as a rookie driver -- can you get in & out of their suggested solution -- without serious problems -- or is it always too crowded? Is it paved or gravelled -- or is it a mud hole, instead?).

If you have to park the rig somewhere you can count on it being your problem as far as transportation home. I wont work for a company that does not allow me to take tractor trailer home.
