Swift lease units run 9spd trannys. Some just need a switch to convert to a 13. Not worth it though because if you get too many excessive overspeeds, they will terminate the lease.
I lost .5 MPG going from 65 to 62 on my monthly review in the same truck. But that truck was set up for 110k lbs.

Speaking of mpg, i wanted to mention this:
I had a cascadia here at werner, tried everything and could not get it to come above 6.1 or 6.2 mpg. I just got an identical truck, identical options, same engine, different color, and its getting 7.2+ mpg...and thats flat out driving it up against the 65 MPH limiter almost constantly!
(clearly that truck had a problem with the engine that was wasting a lot of fuel...i think it might have been dumping that extra 1mpg on the ground honestly)
So..this whole thinking of speed limiters forcing you to make money is bull. There's a LOT more to it than that....
Getting your lease cancelled for too many overspeeds? God, this is sounding more and more like the absolute worst lease i have ever heard of! -
Ok I give up....slowing down helps you not saving fuel...all experts are Idiots. So guys speed up thats the only way to save fuel and make money. I wish you all alot luck and I hope you make all a ton of money.'
As for the people who asked me about swift lease I will write you a PM with the information.
Ok Ok one more thing, I drive a volvo 780 and I promise you something despite that what you guys say about how terrible swift is or their lease contract, I make really really good money, and I have no prob with swift rules, because they gave me a 160000$ truck despite my credit!!!
I saved around 1600 $ last month by slownig down to 62. Thats a fact!!! just do the math. But hey what do I know. You guys go ahead speed up as fast as you can and ##### about us slowdrivers, but guess what, I have heard it all since I am driving a swift truck, but everytime one supatruckers comes on the CB and yells "get out of my way SWIFTY" I sit in my seat and laugh. I make up to 8.7mpg...how about you.
You all be safe and good luck out there.
Ok for the people who read this posting but not my others....I run team!!!TxStoke Thanks this. -
Yep, thats common sense. I figured for every mile per gallon increase i get about $550 a month. Soooo guess what? I slow down to around 63 to 65mph. Sometimes i even go slower, depending on the situation. I'm averaging 7.9 on this tank of gas. Well actually this last load killed me, going over the mountains so I'm down to 7.7. I'm not taking anymore of those PA mountain loads again!!!
The company paid me for a route thru the mountains which was INSANE!!!! Had i known the road was so bad, I never would have gone that way!!! I wish my map had elevation lines on it so I could tell where the mountains are! -

It all evens out.
I slowed down a little so that i can see more girls. Now they all pass me. Apparently they give shows to black trucks more than blue ones. -
I can explain it to you.
YOU DONT HAVE TO DRIVE A TRUCK FOR MANY YEARS IN ORDER TO DO THE MATH IT IS ENOUGH WHEN YOU FINISHED HIGHSCHOOL.
I am just doing simple math, no rocket science. But I guess it is easier to point out somebodys experience then actually talk about the problem. -
so why dont you go 25 mph then youll get 10 mpg
groundpounder Thanks this. -

The fact that your renting a truck from the biggest bottom feeder this industry has to offer tells me all I need to know about you....
