The first issue I see with your thread is you are asking people how much you are going to take home (net pay). No one can tell you that. Too many variables that affect net pay.

    401k contributions
    Number of dependents
    Married or not
    Garnishments if any
    Child support
    Per diem
Amount earned effects amount withheld for taxes.
    Etc, etc.

We should only be talking about gross pay.

Second, if you want to make more, be willing to do more. Its not hard to find people willing to drive 2000 miles a week, drop/hook.

I took a team driving job with manual labor loading trailer ourselves. Big bills, big arms.

@Roostertrucker - Walmart account probably pays about the same; I'm guessing.

hopeful eyes I believe you said somewhere you are female and living in Utah. Correct? If not Mia Copa.
Both are great advantages. I want out of Utah and I'm broken down a little. But if you're healthy that's another advantage.

North Salt Lake has a lot of companies and Ogden has nice houses. They are talking about an inland port somewhere around the airport or Tooele area. By the time you have some money saved up you'll be able to find a home near a work hub so you don't have to commute far.

I used to do fuel tankers in the San Francisco Bay Area before I hurt my back. At that time Utah was actually paying their drivers more then the Bay Area. I worked beside many women. If you're in average health you can do the job just fine. A few of the ladies I could of picked up and tossed in the air if I didn't know they would have kicked my butt for doing it:( You don't need to be big muscle-bound guy to do the work.

Being female is an advantage because many companies are actively trying to hire more women. They won't break all they're hiring rules but I've seen them bending them like a pretzel. Look for and apply to jobs others are telling you you can't get yet. They might not qualify for the job but you might.
    Good luck.

One of the best ways to get on a Dedicated account with Swift is to work as a "Surge" driver. A temporary position during high volume times, (right now for example. Thanksgiving, Christmas). Please be aware, dedicated sounds dandy, and it can be, but.......you had better be real good at Close Quarters Maneuvers, and have solid backing skills. Wait untill you drive through congested city traffic and find your way to the dock of a Walmart Neighborhood Market that is in an old grocery store built in the 70's in Sacramento California. Once you can survive 2-3 of those a day, every day without hitting something besides the center of the dock door, make all of your stops and get back to the DC intact and before your clock runs out, then, you can make some money at it. Also, be real good at routing yourself to the next stop. Mr or Mrs GPS WILL NOT make that happen. Learn to use Google satellite view like your job depends on it........it does. Good luck!
