Regional means a certain section of the country.
I run the Great Lakes Region. My area covers the upper mid-west.
On the western side it is the eastern part of ND and SD, NE, IA down into KS and MO.
On the eastern side I don't go past Ohio and as far south as a little bit of KY.
All of the top states in between those.

Regional pays differently than OTR.
I think it is 8 cpm more than the OTR rate, but there is no sliding pay scale with regional. You get paid the same rate no matter the length of the run.

They don't like you to idle.

Many of the trucks have Opti-Idle, some don't. All have the idle regulated with ambient temperatures, although some of the temp sensors are wonky and the computer settings are not always set properly.
Basically, the engine should idle below ~34 degrees or above ~70. In between those it will shut off after 5 minutes unless Opti-Idle is being used.

 

got to go thru some hoops to get shop to allow truck to idle. didnt feel like it was worth it so i didnt go that route

No, I don't.

The trucks have inverters so power should not be an issue.
If you have Opti-Idle the truck will run if the battery gets too low, so that should also not be a problem.

If the truck does not have Opti-Idle, possibly an exception could be made about the idle settings.

 

How much power does a CPAP use? Could you plug it into one of those UPS/battery bank things they use for computer power?
